Roles
How to browse and maintain roles and permissions. Button names match the English UI.
This is for Allura staff in administration. If you do not see Create role, your account cannot add roles.

Before you start
- You are signed in to VIPA.
- Settings, then Roles.
The list
Title Roles. Text: Create and manage roles and their permissions.
Top right: Create role if you can write.
Filter by name/code, platform vs organization scope, and active / inactive. Open a row to view or edit. System roles are marked System and cannot be deleted like custom roles.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| You cannot create or delete | Your role is read-only or the role is a system role. |
| You do not see Roles | You lack administration access. |
